Want to Win a Book?

Let's have some fun.

I have a couple of books I'd like to give away, and I do believe a game is in order. What I'll give away: *It's All Greek to Me* and *Cupid on a Mission*-- both from Moonlit Romance. (If you'd like to see the covers, go to Moonlit Romance and view them there. *Greek* is on the 2006 release page, *Cupid* is on the home page.) I'm giving away signed, print copies.

I'll post blurbs for both novels, then the game. :D You'll need to read the blurbs in order to play the game.

*Greek* Blurb

Marianne Wilson is fed up with her mother's incessant match-making. Especially when her mother contrives to set her up with Nick Galanapolous. Nick can't be classified in the same wimpy category of men Marianne prefers to date. That makes him dangerous to her in more ways than one.

Last thing divorce attorney Nick Galanapolous wants or needs is a wife. He prefers no-strings relationships. It's all Greek to him why anyone would enter into a marriage when so many become disposable. With her issues and his, is it possible for them to discover a true, lasting love?

*Cupid* Blurb

Cupid's on a mission to Chadwick, Kansas to reunite a couple separated by their past. Cupid, being Cupid, can't help himself or limit himself to his assignment. When another unlikely pair come into Cupid's sights, the god of love winds up with more than he bargained. Are there enough M & M's in the world to satisfy Cupid's love of the candy while he completes his mission to help Nathaniel and Gail overcome the hurts of the past and rediscover love is still there? Are Cupid's arrows potent enough to encourage Rick to find that true love, Coralie, lives across the street?

The Game
Okay, now that you've read the blurbs, suggest a love song for whichever novel you'd like to win (1 or both is fine) ... Post your suggestions to this blog as a comment to today's entry between now and Friday, 3-9-07. Be sure to include the title(s) of the novel and the love song/artist. Winners will be chosen and announced sometime on Friday. Good luck, and have fun!

For Cupid, I could here Sam Cooke's Cupid (some of the lyrics are:

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me

For It's All Greek to Me, the idea of a divorce lawyer who prefers no-strings relationships reminded me of Alabama's Love in the First Degree (some of the lyrics are:

I once thought of love as a prison a place I didnt want to be.
So long ago I made a decision to be footloose and fancy free.
But you came I was so tempted to gamble on love just one time.
I never thought I would get caught.
It seemed like the perfect crime.

Chorus:
Baby, you left me defneseless.
I've only got one plea.
Lock me away inside of your love and throw away the key.
I'm guilty of love in the first degree.

this is for It's All Greek to Me(both of them need to come to this)

FALLING INTO YOU (Celine Dion)

And in your eyes I see ribbons of color
I see us inside of each other
I feel my unconscious merge with yours
And I hear a voice say, "What's his is hers"

I'm falling into you
This dream could come true
And it feels so good falling into you

I was afraid to let you in here
Now I have learned love can't be made in fear
The walls begin to tumble down
And I can't even see the ground

I'm falling into you
This dream could come true
And it feels so good falling into you

Falling like a leaf, falling like a star
Finding a belief, falling where you are

Catch me, don't let me drop!
Love me, don't ever stop!

So close your eyes and let me kiss you
And while you sleep I will miss you

I'm falling into you
This dream could come true
And it feels so good falling into you

Falling like a leaf, falling like a star
Finding a belief, falling where you are

Falling into you
Falling into you
Falling into you

Okay, for Greek I'm gonna go with The Feeling, 'Fill My Little World' ("Hey show some love, you ain't so tough, come fill my little world right up").

For Cupid, I really wanna say 'Stupid Cupid' and I can't believe no one else has! Exceot I can't remember who did it. So I'm going to go with one that SOUNDS like Cupid, and pick Pet Shop Boys 'I'm With Stupid'. See what I did there?

I'm going with a movie theme.

Okay, for Greek I"m going with "I Got No Strings" from the movie Pinocchio.

I got no strings to hold be down
To make me fret or make me frown
I had strings, but now I'm free
I got no strings on me

For Cupid I'm going with "The Girl Next Door" (adapted from "The Boy Next Door" from the movie "Take Me To St. Louis")

How can I ignore the girl next door
I love her more than I can say
Doesn't try to please me
Doesn't even tease me
And she never sees me glance her way

And though I'm heart-sore, the girl next door
Affection for me won't display
I just adore her
So I can't ignore her
The girl next door

I know it has no words to it, but the Theme from Mission Impossible (70's TV Show) comes to mind for "Cupid".

I can just see him flying around hiding from the characters while still trying to help them sort their lives out.

LOL, Denise. I can see him doing that, too.

And now I'm humming the MI tune. GGG
