It's November!

Holy Cow! How did November happen to us so quickly?

I love this time of year. Leaves are changing colors, the air is growing crisp and cooler. Mmmmm.... And best of all, the holidays are just around the corner. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas.

My Grandma gave us Christmas ornaments every Thanksgiving, and continued this tradition up until last year (thanks to my Mother who'd go purchase the ornaments on Grandma's behalf.) I always thought this was a lovely tradition. This year is the first year Grandma won't be with us. I think I'm going to continue the tradition, which means I need to go buy some ornaments! Since Grandma did it for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I think I'll do it for the "next generation"--Grandma's great-grandchildren. (Pardon me while I count on my fingers how many great-grands there are: my 3, my sisters each have 2, and my cousin's li'l preemie boy... makes... 8! See! I CAN add! LOL!)

The ornaments were wrapped in Christmas paper, and distributed after Thanksgiving dinner. I feel pretty safe in saying that we all loved this and looked forward to our "First Christmas Present" of the season. Didn't matter that we knew it was an ornament-- we didn't know what the ornament looked like!

That's one Thanksgiving Tradition... stay tuned for more traditions, recipes and other Thanksgiving-themed posts this month.

Happy November!

Happy November, Laura. The ornament tradition is something I'd like to start for my children, and hopefully one day, grandchildren. First they need to get settled enough to have Christmas trees of their own.

This is an ornament I'd buy for them. Hope the link works. http://www.everythingchristmas.com.au/prod1812.htm

I'm also dropping by here to thank you again for sending me a convalescent book and chocolates! I thoroughly enjoyed Cupid. It was a fun, warm, humorous story that was really relatable. I cackled my way through, and got a double HEA. Congrats on a great book, and thanks again!
