Looking Forward to 2012

 Who's ready for 2012?
...
Me neither! But it's coming whether we're ready for it or not, and it'll be here this weekend! Boggles the ol' braincell. With a whole new year of promise open like a blank slate looming just days ahead, I've been thinking about what it is I want from 2012. The answer is below.

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.

Marianne Williamson

Joy!

Holiday happiness - letting it leak over into LIFE itself. Today's goal: Finding Joy! in my life.

Joy! You can jump with joy, you can sing with joy, you can spread joy, you can share joy, you can be a joy to others, you can dance with joy, you can speak with joy, you can enjoy, you can do things joyfully.

Take a moment in the middle of your busy day and find 2 or 3 or 5 or 10 things that bring joy to you. The joys in my life are: Family, Friends, Writing, A fluffy white cloud in the middle of the bright blue sky that reflects the sunlight, Memories, A full moon, The look of utter devotion on my dog's face, and Hugging my kids. Once you start, it's hard to stop. I could go on and on. :)

One joy scatters a hundred griefs.
Chinese proverb

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
Buddha

Find a place inside where there's joy, and the joy will burn out the pain.
Joseph Campbell

To find joy in another's joy
that is the secret of happiness.
George Bernanos

Joy is the feeling of grinning on the inside.
Dr. Melba Colgrove

Joy is very infectious; therefore, be always full of joy.
Mother Teresa

Last, but not to the least...You can't help but find Joy! when you listen/sing along/dance to Three Dog Night and Joy to the World.
